Human body has an automatic system of cell reconstruction; through this system the old cells of body die and new cells replace them. But sometimes body starts making new cells even when body does not need them. These extra cells make extra tissues and those tissues are called tumors, which cause cancer. Many types of cancers are there but in ladies the most common cancer type is uterine cancer. It begins in the womb of a woman.
A woman's reproductive system allows a new life to come in this world and uterus is that place where that life grows. Uterus walls are made up of two types of tissues, endometrium and myometrium. Endometrium tissues make inner side of uterus while second type of tissues make outer side of uterus.
When it comes for uterine cancer, then almost 40% of this cancer occur in endometrium tissue means inner part of uterus. Although thiscancer type is very rare in those women who are below 40 and usually it appears in 55 to 65 years old women; but still it is considered a scary disease. But the prognosis of uterine cancer tells the truth and provides guideline for the treatment which should be given to patient.
In medicine a prognosis is the prediction about the course of a disease and a detailed prognosis tells about full description about the disease and the expected time that patient has. In uterine cancer the prognosis is dependent on some factors like type of cancer cells, stage of cancer, age of patient and many more.
The prognosis has great importance in this disease because it helps doctor for the selection of treatment. If uterine cancer is in initial stages and prognosis report is positive, then chemotherapy and radiation treatment will be used by doctors otherwise surgery is considered the only solution.
Whatever the stage of uterine cancer is, it is important to keep one thing in mind that prognosis is only the prediction. Every disease can be defeated by strong will and spiritual support. So even prognosis is not encouraging even then one should not lose hope and try to defeat her disease.
